There are currently new benefits available to veterans enrolled in VA health care including new telehealth resources and urgent care access. At my event, veterans will be able to learn about these new benefits and sign up for local, state and federal benefits. There will be assistance on hand to help vets receive their DD-214, service medals, service treatment records, personnel files, or a copy of their VBA file, among other resources. You can also sign up to participate in the Veterans History Project with the Library of Congress to preserve their stories as part of our nation’s history.
Importantly, veterans will also be able to obtain a Veterans Document Identification Card through the Cuyahoga County Veterans’ Service Commission for just $1. To receive a card, veterans will need to bring a copy of their DD-214 and present one form of identification from the following: a valid driver’s license, certified birth certificate, Social Security card, a valid United States passport, a valid conceal & carry permit, or an identification card from the United States Department of Veterans Affairs. One of the forms of identification must be a photo ID. I look forward to seeing you there!
